My stay at Holiday Inn Portland-By The Bay had its ups and downs. The view from my room was lovely, and the location was convenient for events, but the hotel really felt outdated and in need of renovation. The staff was friendly, but the breakfast left much to be desired. Overall, for the price, I expected quite a bit more.

Rooms
6.0
I had a beautiful room on the 11th floor with a lovely view, but it was disappointing to find issues like peeling paint and a noisy fan. It felt spacious, but some renovations are definitely needed.
Service
5.0
While the staff was genuinely friendly, I had a bad experience at the front desk when my reserved bay view room wasn’t available. The service seemed overwhelmed, especially when I tried to address my concerns.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is great for accessing local attractions and events. right near the state theatre, but it’s not within walking distance of downtown eateries, which was a bit of a letdown.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a huge disappointment. I was served poorly cooked food and had to wait ages for service. it just didn’t reflect the quality I hoped for given the price.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has some promising amenities, like a bar and a shuttle service, but the renovation work restricted access to certain areas, which made things inconvenient.

7.0/10

I had a solid experience at the Holiday Inn Portland-By The Bay. The room I stayed in had a fantastic view of the bay, and the bed was quite comfortable. However, I did find the bathroom a bit on the small side. The shuttle service was a definite highlight, making it easy to get around town without any hassle. The price was a touch high, but given the location, it felt reasonable overall.

I had a nice stay at Holiday Inn Portland-By The Bay, enjoying the friendly staff and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The location was convenient for exploring the local area, though the parking situation could be a bit tight, especially on weekends with larger vehicles. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would consider staying again.

I really appreciated the hotel’s excellent location within walking distance of downtown attractions, local shops, and restaurants. It made my visit to Portland much more enjoyable.
Dining

The breakfast options were decent, though I found the vegan choices somewhat limited. However, I enjoyed the food prepared by the events team during my stay, which was well done.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were good, with easy access to self-parking and a complimentary shuttle service available to local spots. However, the parking spaces were a bit challenging to navigate, especially for larger SUVs.
